Hi Friend! Have you ever suffered from "Blog Block" ? That is my term for it, I think. And I am certainly in the doldrums when it comes to writing a post, lately.
In the middle of the night, slightly awake, i am most clever ...I imagine what I will say and it is at the same time humorous and riveting. But then, I wake up and completely forget what I was going to write.
So clever or not, I am here. Spring appears to be taking hold. My Vinca Minor is blooming as well as my Japanese Magnolia. Not to mention the "Daffy" dils all over the place. Yet we still have some really cold mornings in the '30s.
My passion lately has been knitting and I have found a wonderful source for all things knitting and crocheting: Ravelry There are forums, groups, patterns (some are free) and how-to videos. If you have never picked up knitting needles or crochet hook, you might want to give it a try.
I am almost finished with a man's sweater vest. It has been a challenge because it has a stitch pattern to it that has sometimes been confusing to this addled brain of mine. They say that in older age it is good to challenge yourself physically and mentally. Not that I am old, mind you. :o)
What have you been up to lately? I would love to hear from you.
May the peace and love of Jesus be with you today and always!

My Knitting Projects and a giveaway!
Are you making your list and checking it twice? I sure hope that you are not getting stressed this Christmas season like the lady above.
Knitting projects have kept me pretty busy during my free time. They were presents for our parish priests.
My sweet friend, Cheri, gifted me with a book on product photography. And although that is not something that I specialize in, I thought I would give it a try. Let me know what you think.
One of the suggestions in the book is that you get up close to show detail. You can see the pattern here, I hope. The hat is out of focus on purpose.
This is only half of the hat and scarf set. ..I am still working on the hat.
This is a close up of the above pattern. I don't know why the color is so off. It is really between the two examples. And the light was from a window in the same spot. Hmmmm?
This is not for the priests. It will be a prize for whoever has the best holiday memory.
Just be sure to give me your email address when you leave your memory. I will try to get this out by the first of the year.
And remember to try and be joyful during these trying times.
"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love Him, to enable them to fulfill the purpose for which they are called. "(Romans 8:28)

Day before Frankenstorm and The Friday Night Knitting Club
Hi Sweetie! How in the world are you? I have been so busy with taking care of Jim after his knee surgery. But I did take out some time to walk with Elmo in the park this afternoon.
The clouds don't look too menacing so far. But they say it is coming: Hurricane Sandy.
I don't know how much we will be affected. Northeast US is expecting 2 feet of snow in some areas and a loss of electricity for weeks, some say. I hope not. I prayed an extra rosary for the safety of all.
This wonderful book is not just for knitters. It is actually the story of a group of women who come together to encourage and support each other. Each character is unique and funny. It is an easy read and you will laugh and cry at some parts.
And it encouraged me to get back into knitting. A wonderful nun taught me how to knit in 3rd grade. After a series of dropped stitches and starts and stops, I finally was able to make simple items.
There is just something so soothing and gratifying seeing the stitches "grow" into something.
This is what i have been doing lately:
The light aqua is a receiving blanket based on the dish cloth pattern, really easy. Then there is the purple cowl that I knitted on the way back from Destin.

And another purple hat.
An over sized turquoise hat.
And this is what i have on my needles right now. Yikes, I hope I have enough yarn to finish it.
Thanks for visiting! Your comments always make my day!
Peace, love and joy of Jesus Christ be with you today and always.
XOXO

Knitting baby beanies
Hi Friend! I hope you are having a good week!
Just wanted to show you what I have been doing lately. And no, I don't have any grandchildren on the way....that I know of.
My good friend next door will be a grand mother for the second time in October, God willing. And her daughter has consented to letting Tammy of http://simplesouthernhappiness.blogspot.com/ and I to photograph the new baby when it is really a newborn. As I understand it, you can get some amazing shots when the baby is under 10 days old.
Anyway, I have started to amass a few props. This is supposed to look like a grape. Do you think it does?
Now you would think that I, since I have been knitting since 3rd grade would have no problem, right? Au contraire, mon amis! Although I have knit a number of items over the years, I picked up the needles and was very awkward with them. Had to rip out 3 hats. But I say never give up! Today I finally finished it. What do you think? :o)
Peace and love to you!
