Gold gilt wooden candle sticks |
Hi Everyone! I have been on a campaign to lighten and brighten my home with touches of cream and white. Do you think that I should paint these candle sticks? And how would I go about it? Spray paint or dab on? I am clueless about decorating so would appreciate your opinions on this.
Here are some of my new additions:
A ceramic watering can{?}
A pretty Italian platter for display.
An ornate frame...got to find the perfect picture for it.
My early Halloween pumpkin. I think I will always keep it on a shelf in my great room.
All of these treasures were bought for next to nothing. And that is always a good thing.
Do you feel a hint of fall in the air? This morning as I headed out to my new deck with my dogs, to have my morning coffee and quiet time, I sensed a new season coming. It was actually cool and breezy.
The peace, joy and happiness of our Lord, Jesus, be with you this week!

Linking up to White Wednesday...check it out!

Love your header photo!
Looks like the sticks would be fine if you were to antique them with a cream paint and let some of the existing paint show through. If not, spray paint them high gloss would look good. That seems to be the in thing right now.
I did notice it was not as hot when I walked out to put water in the birdbaths. I kept sayin to myself it looked liked we may have an early Fall. The hummers are fighting for the feeders, the acorn are in full bloom on the trees sooner than normal, the persimmons on the trees are advanced for this time of year and the wasp are slowing down on feeding. The trees in the morning light have that special tint to them like when Fall is approaching. SO.,.. I hope we do!!!
Stay cool and think FALL~
love those new pieces, especially if you got them for next to nothing! I wish there was a hint of fall in the air here (still triple digits!)
All are beautiful pieces!! The Italian platter--oh, my. Anything Italian makes me ga-ga. I'm sure you have an awesome photo to put in that lovely frame. I think those candlesticks would look very good in white, but I have no idea how to go about it! I would guess sanding and then spray paint? Good luck!
Cool new treasures! Would love to see the candle sticks in white, but would have to search the web to find out the best way. Maybe you could put them away until the white mood passes and find some white ones!
Can't wait to see the new deck!
Hi there I am calling by to return your kind visit to News From Italy, it is much appreciated and I hope to have you call by and comment again.
I love the Italian platter but I would be actually using it if it was mine! The candles would look great with an antique finish rather than making them white.
I would paint them white with a spray or brush, then sand them lightly on the edges and let some of the old color come thru! If you dislike you can always repaint! Love your new collection!
there is definitely fall in the air, and i LOVE it! super cute little pumpkin you've already got...really gets me in the autumn mood.
i probably would paint those candlesticks, but then i would use rub n buff or else distress them a bit so the gold comes out. i look froward to seeing what you choose!
