Happy Labor Day to all of my American Friends and Happy Sunday to everyone!
I thank God that my husband has a job and I pray for those who are struggling to attain one. We can all be a pay check away from poverty. God only knows what will happen to our country with the debt that we have incurred. This verse from 2 Chronicles comes to mind:
2 Chronicles 7:14
New International Version
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Sorry that I have not been posting regularly these days. I have been re-painting some end tables with the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and learning as I go. I will post some before and after pictures at the end of the week if the weather permits. The paint and wax has to dry completely before I am done. Thankfully, we have been getting RAIN!
Last week, my darling husband insisted that he take me to see "The Help", what I was thinking was a girls' flick. Well it turned out that he loved the movie, as I did also. But the major motive was that the next day he wanted me to go with him to see "Senna" a limited run film about a champion Grande Prix racer, from Brazil. Yawn.... Well, I was wrong. It was really fascinating to see this documentary and what a humble young man, Ayrton Senna was. He had no shame in giving his victory to God's power. And another plus: he was very knock out gorgeous, if you know what I mean, Ladies. Sigh.
Have a blessed week, my friends!

You got that right, I spent the whole weekend, setting in my Antique and Gift shop watching people walk in and walk out. Very sad. Thanks for the post. Richard from My Old Historic House.
I hope you did get to enjoy the day and not labor too hard painting.
How about that rain! I pray for those that were hit hard by it. We so needed the rain but not the damage.
That is one of my favorite passages of the Bible! I think we, as a nation, should all pray this together.
My husband took me to see The Help on opening weekend - I had read the book and loved it. The movie was pretty close to the book which is unusual. Thoroughly enjoyed the movie as did hubby. :)
Finally my computer is up and running! I put it off until I had all the laundry done and cooked the veggies I purchased at the tailgate mark!
Would love that, as a nation, we pray this prayer together...but if the clergy are banned from 9-11 ceremonies, how does this nation have a chance!?
I just saw "The Help" last night and loved it. Haven't heard of Senna - I'll have to go see it now!
