Thanksgiving is over

Actually, Thanksgiving needs to be every day of the year, not just one day.

As families are wont to do, not everyone can celebrate the holidays at the same time.
Paula, my old friend, is a case in point. With her son and daughter eating turkey at the in-laws, she decided to have them over on Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Four Generations

She asked me to come over to "make" their picture. And I was delighted to. Elmo and I hopped in the car and made the trek to grandma's house. Elmo would have loved to visit but  Bubba the bull mastiff was visiting and I didn't want Elmo to attack him. Ha!

Papa and grandkids

This is what it is all about....family. I got a little teary wishing that I had grandkids and family around.

I love black and white. It is so classic, don't you think?

Before they sat down for dinner, we went in the backyard to see the chickens and rabbit.

I can't remember the kind of chickens here. Maybe you know. They lay really cute little eggs.

Here is Paula with her grand babies. She loves them all!

This chicken is full grown.

Go away, kids....leave me alone!

Sweet bunny!

That's all folks! Hope you had a blessed  Thanksgiving! I just made some broth from my turkey bones to make soup this week.

God bless you, each and every one!

Pre Thanksgiving Day of preparation

I don't know about you, but when I have to do Thanksgiving dinner, I make a huge mess. Just look at my kitchen! Everything is so topsy turvy. Maybe you all cook the day of, but I find that I would get really stressed if I didn't prepare ahead of time.
I don't actually cook everything, but assemble it to put in the oven the next day.

We have a deal in our house for any holiday gathering; my husband cleans the house while I cook. This works really well since he is the detailer.

Let's get started!

Nice and clean...where are my things that were on the coffee table? Jim???

Got a head start on setting my table....now what happened to my spoons?

Jim loves to fry turkeys every year for our friends. This is the first one; for our next door neighbors. They are hosting 12 tonight, since Jan has to work tomorrow.
Let's go see what they are up to. Here is their table:

Very elegant, I must say!

And her buffet. So pretty!

Let's go see how that turkey is doing.

Perfection!

Two more to go!

Oops...we need to touch this room up a bit!

Katie is here to make one of her fabulous cakes!

To all of my blogging friends; from my blog home to yours: Happy Thanksgiving!

I am so thankful for you.You all mean so much to me. Many blessings to you and your families.

Joy and peace of Jesus be with you!
