She sells sea shells at the sea shore

 

Not really.My good friend Donna collected all of these shells. She invited me and a couple of other ladies to her home to have lunch and make a sea shell wreath. I haven't used a glue gun in years but I was game.

She told us to bring a straw wreath, covered with fabric, and a glue gun. I covered mine with strips of painter's cloth.

 She provided all the shells. She has been collecting these gorgeous shells for years, mostly at Sanibel and Captiva Islands in south Florida.

I am often puzzled at people who have no belief in God. His creation shows us His majesty in all of His creation.

Just looking at these beautiful and varied shells. The shapes, the colors and textures are so artistic, don't you think?

 

I had forgotten how unique each shell can be.

This is Barbara's wreath, almost finished. Isn't it pretty?

And here is Donna's wreath. She really put a lot of shells on hers. Mine looks a little bare compared to hers. But she is quite the decorator and loves details.

This is an important step: put your string around the wreath a couple of times before you start to glue the shells on, and make your loop to handle the weight for hanging. It will be heavy!

This is my final product. How could it not be pretty! Thanks Donna, for a lovely time!

Tea Towels with graphics

 

Hi there! I can't believe it is Tuesday. Somehow I missed Monday. Has that ever happened to you? Ha!

On Sunday, I ironed these transfers onto some tea towels that I bought at Big Lots for $1.50 each. 100% cotton...really nice for the price.

I found the graphics at  Graphics Fairy.

 The graphic above the sheep says something about fabric so I stretched the idea to include sheep, since they provide wool for fabric.

I took some string, some push pins and clothes pinned the towels across my kitchen window. Not sure if I am going to keep them there though. What do you think? Silly idea, you say? :o)

My Old Window Frame

 

A while back, I remember someone posting using an old window like this one. She had a photo of her two girls, printed into a poster at Staples. Then she mounted it to the back of the window and hung it on her wall.

I guess I could have had a poster made at Staples, but it was Sunday and I really didn't want to leave the house. So I went to this site: Block Poster here

You will notice the places where I taped the pages together, 6 in all.

When I read the instructions the first time, I laid out regular sheets of 8.5 x 11 white paper onto my window frame. 6 sheets of paper, portrait orientation fit over it.

When I downloaded the PDF, i printed out the sheets and then taped them together.

My mistake: I should have made the block poster bigger so as to allow for a good fit.

When I placed it behind the window, the cow's head was covered by one of the pane frames. So when I do it again, I will know to make allowances.

And I will do it again and probably use card stock or cover stock for more durability.
