Warning: Not a pretty site! :o)

Showing messy pictures like this is not my style. But I had to show you why I have not been keeping up with my blog. Not that I was actually doing any of the real work, but I did keep the working men (my husband and our next door neighbor, Harvey) well fed and watered. That sounds funny "watered", like they are cattle or horses. They did work like animals though, sweating through their clothes in the heat of the day.

I have been wanting a deck for some time now because of the flagstone steps leading down to the patio. Since there is no railing, I am scared of falling and breaking bones for myself as well as others. So finally, it is coming to fruition. Thanks to my sweet husband and good friend.

Jimmy, my husband, anchoring the supports to the wall (?)

Messes always make me nervous, especially like this kind. I can't do anything about it until it is complete. So I just busy myself with sweeping up the mud that comes off boots when coming into the house, and doing tons of extra laundry.

Almost finished with staining the supports. Can't wait until this is finished. Hope it will be before summer is over.

Thanks for looking, my sweet blogging buddies! I will try to catch up with each of you soon.

Have a wonderful and restful weekend!

Hi Charlotte,
I am sure that once it is finished, you are going to love your deck and your new outdoor space. Hopefully you will finish before the end of summer. Enjoy!

Know you are excited to be so close to sitting on the deck and watching the birds! Keep the food and water flowing!

Oh, you are going to love this! Looks like a huge undertaking though. Good thing you are there to feed and water the workers. :)

You will definitely enjoy your new deck! Sit out there and have a nice glass of iced tea or lemonade with a good book; that is the life!
