God, please give me patience and make it fast!

When God was handing out the genes for patience and maturity, I missed out. I so admire those who are able to wait patiently without grumbling, but try as I might, I usually fail.

"We will never wake up one day and find that we have 'arrived' at perfect maturity. As Martin Luther wrote so long ago, we are all still in the process of becoming the people God wants us to be. Let's adapt the common saying and apply it to ourselves; Be patient with yourself--God is not finished with you yet!"   Ellen Sanna from A Mother's Heart

I never use a calendar because I forget to look at it. All of my appointments are in my head. It has always worked for me. Not today! LOL  I just was sure that I had a doctor's appointment this morning at 9 a.m. It is the 7th so this was the day. I got up earlier than usual and started out so that I would not be late from traffic. When I got there I signed in and gave the receptionist my insurance card. She said that they could not find anywhere that I had an appointment today. Nor did they have time to fit me in. So I left in a huff.

God must have had a reason for me not having the appointment today. He knows that I hate going to doctors. Does it bother anyone but me for the nurse to stick you in a closed little room, on a cold table, with no good magazines in site, for close to 45 minutes? What is with that?

Then when they take your blood pressure, they wonder what is making it so high?!

Sorry, I had to grumble. I am better now. :o)

Going outside always makes me feel more calm. We have been getting some steady rain for about 3 days, which was very much needed here. And the weather is delightfully cool. I hope that the weather in your part of the country is pleasing to you too.

Katie's jalapeno plant is thriving. There are still green tomatoes on the vines, waiting to get red. And leaves are starting to turn.

Last week I dead headed my gerbera daisy, and another bloom appeared soon after.

I am looking forward to planting my fall garden soon. How about you?

Great post! Going thru several tests before we head back to Florida! Hear you loud and clear, hate going to the doctor's too. Sometimes it just sucks to be human!
Glad you got the chance to enjoy the outside, great photos!

Charlotte, you made me laugh. I think I missed out on the patience and maturity gifts, too. :)

We are getting cooler weather here but still in desperate need of rain. I'm not complaining, but then again, my house isn't on fire like some others. :/

I love the shots of your wet leaves and Katie's jalapeno. It was cool enough this weekend to weed my garden and plant some zinnias and lantana.

Yep, patience is something that we learn, I failed a time or two.

Lovely photos, you do capture some eye pleasing shots.

Being in the medical field, I understand the wait. DONT like it but understand over booking, dr has to take phone calls, emergencies.... I have learned to take a book with me as the magazines are most of the time out dated and not what I want to read.

Hope you are enjoying this cool weather.

I stopped praying for patience because I figured out God kept putting me in situations that tried it! lol I envy you the ability (up until now, at least) to remember your appointments. I haven't trusted my memory in years!

Not surprised you felt up tight, like you I find that a calming walk does wonders for the soul. Patience is something I have learnt both with age and by living in Italy :)
