Macro Flowers and Using the Photo Filter on PSE

What is the weather like in your neck of the woods? I hope that you are happy with it, whatever it is.

It seems that winter has decided not to come for a visit this year. All of our blossoms are putting on their show earlier than usual. So I took my new lens, a Tokina Macro 100 mm, F 2.8 and went in my front yard.

The camellia bushes are really loaded up right now with blossoms!

I didn't realize that having a close up lens would be more difficult to focus. I need lots of practice and maybe a small tripod would help. :o)

Look at the ruffles on this daffodil!

God is so good to us that He gave us so many different kinds of flowers; shapes and colors.

This Camellia is not fully open; isn't it pretty and colorful?!

Look at this volunteer grape hyacinth....isn't it a cutie pie? They are so tiny!

And this tiny vinca minor bloom.

Reminds me of angel wings...

Today as I was getting these photos ready, I rediscovered the photo filter setting on PSE 9.
It is really fun to use, to add a little zing to your pictures. Here is the screen print:

See the right hand side of the screen with the magenta box? That is where you can choose all kinds of colors and settings. It is fun!

This white Camellia has been edited with a blue filter:It doesn't really show up here, but there is a slight blue tinge.

Below is the photo SOOC:

To my sweet blogger buddies:
May the Love and peace of our Lord, Jesus Christ be with you on this Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent!

I dare say you have some amazing flowers to photograph and you are getting the hang of your new lens. Yep, in macro, I have to have a tripod but it also depends on the light too and a fast shutter speed helps in some lighting conditions too.

Your Camellia almost reminds me of a Gardena... WOW!

Charlotte, these are just gorgeous!
I especially love the camellia. What a beautiful flower.

We have had a very mild winter here, with almost no snow, so everything has been pretty gray. Hopefully that will change over the next several weeks!

Thank you so much for sharing with us this week at The Creative Exchange.

Have a wonderful day!

Such beautiful flowers. Even though it is white my favorite one is the camellia. It is gorgeous.

We have had a spring like day here in MD. Sunny and temperature in the mid 60's, 20 degrees above average.

Hope winter doesn't decide to show up and bite all the pretty buds and blooms.

You must have a beautiful yard with all these flowers! Your white camellia is pure white. I do have the tiny vinca minor blooming all over the place - just hope they don't freeze this weekend! Lovely pictures!
