My sweet husband, decided that he was taking me to lunch on Monday to Chattanooga, TN. He was feeling a bit guilty I think, for having spent the past 5 weekends helping our next door neighbor help ready his rental property in Athens, GA.
The Carolina Jessamine was in full bloom, climbing the brick wall beside the restaurant.
Stickey Fingers is a favorite barbecue place of Jim's. The smoked brisket was succulent and delicious, but the best part was after lunch.
We took a walk around town. That is Jim.

On the way back to the car, we came upon a store aptly named "All books". It had books all right but more.

Polly is a delightful woman in her nineties who says that "spinning makes you happy".
She has a business agreement with a shepherd who brings her all kinds of wool.
She tried to sell me a spinning wheel. I like to knit but I am not ready for spinning yet.

What a wonderful day you had Charlotte!! Chattanooga is such a fun place! Believe I would have spent the rest of the day with your spinning lady!! Such an art to be able to take that wool and make it consistantly the same size yarn. She must have a great set of legs!! And the orchids - have never seen them in blue!! Too much fun :-}}

Spinning is a lot harder than it looks. Years ago a friend of mine gave me one lesson. She then said maybe I should try something else!!

Looks like I have missed a few of your post. Mercy you look like you had a full day and what a great way to spend it with hubby. Your pictures are outstanding of the flowers and of the cupcake, sure got my taste buds active.
Can't imagine a more PERFECT day! Love that "young" gal and her spinning -- obviously SOMETHING is keeping her young so it must be that!

That looks like a great day filled with lots of food and flowers. How surprising to see someone spinning wool in the middle of a bookstore. I love out of the ordinary things like that :)
