What is this piece? and the Shower (for girls only)

Seed packet added to show size

Hello, Sweetie Pies! I hope you are having a wonderful week so far! It is rainy and cool out today but I love it and the flowers seem to also.

Can you guess what the item above is? It was bought at the local thrift shop for $3. No one seemed to know what it was but I thought it was pretty and might be a nice prop for my photography.

The top finial can be unscrewed but the rest appeared to be solid.

The mother of the bride- to- be held it and unscrewed the bottom portion. Can you tell where I am going with this?

Sorry about the unappetizing dirty plates
 She unscrewed the bottom and ASHES came out....well a little bit, before she quickly screwed it back on. Yikes! It is a funeral urn! It is now in the possession of Father Jose who will be making arrangements to bury it on consecrated ground.

                                         ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Please don't judge me on the cake my daughter made. Can you tell what it is?
Since we had about a day in advance to get this party rolling, Katie bought a lot of food items at Costco, like chicken nuggets, mini quiches, and a "ring leader" sub sandwich from Publix. We filled in with plates of fruit and cheese.
Girls nowadays are much more....hmmm...what do I say? Racy? My daughter said that this was a very low key party compared to some bachelorette parties. I thought it was a shower but it was a lingerie/bachelorette party without the male stripper. Did I mention the cake? You have to look close.
Tara enjoyed the game Katie chose: to give everyone a strip of tp and make a fashion item of it.
Now for the opening of gifts:
For the wedding night
Thanks for taking the time to visit me today! May the peace, joy and love of Jesus be with you today and always!
XOXO
I can't believe that someone would donate/sell their urn WITH ashes!!
Looks like you all had fun - and the cake!! Hehehehee- same with my girls!!! One of their friend's shower had 4 cakes like yours and they divided into teams and had to decorate their cakes then decide which was the "best!" No shame!
I love Costco!!
Oh, dear, on the urn! Holy cow, I would've freaked out. It is a pretty piece, though.
Looks like the shower was a success--especially with such short notice to prepare. All the fresh fruit made for some terrific color. I giggled at the cake. :)
I thought it looked like an urn but didn't think to unscrew the bottom! Goodness!
Looks like a fun party, especially when I got a closer look at that cake. Katy!!!
Oh my gosh, who would give an urn with someone's ashes in it to a thrift store! That is awful yet somehow really funny.
The shower looks like it was a success. The food looks like it was really tasty, although I don't know if I could bring myself to eat that cake? Hahah.
