Count your blessings not your troubles

Hello Ducky! I hope your weekend got off to a good start and that you are happy today!

It happens to all of us. You get up to find a leak under the sink, the dryer is not drying any more, the dishwasher is not getting your dishes clean, your car breaks down. This is life.

Sometimes we have to spend money are things that just are not fun; like fixing a cracked and heaved driveway. And some repairs just seem unreasonable but you are stuck with no other choice. My husband explained that cement is expensive. Huh? It is concrete not gold.

I am thankful that we are able to pay for this repair although we could go on a last minute cruise on it. LOL

I would much rather spend my money on pretty things like:

My new fall wreath

Or:

Our new mat. We got it at Tuesday Morning for $20. I love a good deal!

Peace, love and joy to you my friend! I will leave you with a nice quote from Mother Theresa:

“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.”

It's not concrete I'm needing but trees that need trimming. As you say, it's always something (or was that Gilder Radner?)

Your new wreath is pretty. I just picked a bunch of green hydrangeas at Melanie's for photographing...hopefully!

Oh, I do know how this goes.
First-hand this weekend, as it looks like our dryer is about to become history!

So concrete is rivaling the price of gold now? Sheesh! So sorry, but you do have so many pretty things surrounding you to enjoy. Soon you will enjoy a new driveway. Love the new wreath for your beautiful door. And now I'm going to have to make a trip to Tuesday Morning to see if I can find a D doormat! :) Enjoy your Sunday, sweet lady!

Also what is frustrating is that you'll get one thing fixed, then it's something else- as you said - the dishwasher, the dryer and always the car!!
That concrete - hubby can not do!!
Sorry you couldn't take that last minute cruise - maybe next fall?

Words well said and worth remembering from a very wise woman, Mother Teresa. You sure will have a nice looking driveway when all the work is done...even if it did cost as much as a cruise it will msot likely last longer.

Your wreath and doormat look wonderful. Cement is frightfully expensive here too.
