Happy Shoes

Hi Sweet Pea! Were you glued to a news network for the past week wondering when the good guys would catch the bad guys in the Boston Marathon Bombing? I was. And I was devastated as you were probably also, at the loss of life and limbs.

Not to mention the fear and apprehension that the whole nation is reeling with again.
When will it end? When will it happen again? Only God knows.

Why is it that we open our doors to strangers from other countries and give them the same rights and freedoms that we enjoy, only to have them show hatred for us in the end?
Why do we keep doing it? And giving scholarships to their children when ours have to pay?

I must admit that when the video showed the perpetrators, and their pictures shown everywhere, I was proud of our FBI, CIA and all of the police forces for their efforts. But I also have to admit that knowing what these young men did, all I wanted then, was to see them hung publicly in Boston Square.

But then I remembered that I am a Catholic Christian who is now against capital punishment."Vengeance is mine, says the Lord." And so, I wait for God's justice.

By now you must be wondering why I am posting pictures of my shoes. Well, these are my happy shoes. When I walk out into the world, I will have no fear. I will not let these monsters get the best of me. Amen?

"Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for you are at my side. Your rod and staff give me courage." Ps. 23: verse 4

Of all the people who come to our shores, I think most come with the best of intentions. Sadly, it is the few who want only to do us harm that get through as well. I hope we will always be the welcoming land of freedom. There is evil in the world but also there is good.

I love your shoes! Happy feet are a good way to face daily life.

Your comments are well taken, Charlotte, as it is indeed sad to read of people coming into the US and receiving much and then taking much more as in the case of these 2 young men. There are also many deserving American young people as you said. As Bonnie commented earlier, there is sadly both evil and good in the whole world.
(Thanks for asking how our Open House went this weekend, but the realtor had no one show up in a 2 hr window on Sat morning. Grenville will do a post later.)

I LOVE your happy shoes!! They are lovely and I bet you have fun wearing them Charlotte! I totally agree with you in what you said!! We are protected somewhat by an ocean on either side. If you don't like who we are and how we live and who we worship -- then GO HOME!! No body is making you stay in our country!! We educate the illegals for free through high school and their children get a free breakfast and lunch while in school, they receive free medical, and legal foreigners can buy property and make a living in our country. They even get a tax break on small businesses, yet our own people pay through the nose. The list goes on - so frustrating!

Those are fun, vibrant shoes! I had some vengeful thoughts of what I'd like to do to those bombers as well, then remembered how Jesus forgave and felt humbled. Keep praying for our country!

Beautiful thoughts Charlotte.
Not too many reasonable answer to some of those questions. All we can know is that God is there and has never left us.

Bless you this week.

Charlotte, LOVE the happy shoes on happy feet, the shoes are beautiful and comfortable, just perfect!

The Preacher, Old Testament, said, "The wicked flourish because justice is slow in coming." Dave was against capital punishment, I am not. We are each given ONE life; God allows us to do with it what we will - good or bad. If we take someone else's life, by extension, we forfeit our own life; we can only have one. In other countries, there are public executions and punishments with far decreased levels of crime.
We cannot look at the world solely through western eyes; the world is a vastly different place than the USA. In so much of the world we USA citizens are thought to be stupid and ripe for the plucking because of our way of thinking.
Thus far, I've traveled in more than 30 countries and learned how quickly the USA is becoming despised and hated. It's appalling but true.
I'm not trying to change your mind; I'm giving my perspective.
