Prayer for the New Year

Dear Blogging friends,

This is my wish for my new year....that I can look to Jesus and follow this prayer. It is a beautiful one that I hope you will read. It was written by Merry Cardinal del Val, a secretary of state to Post Saint Pius X from the prayer book for Jesuits, 1963.

Prince of Peace

O Jesus! meek and humble of heart, hear me.

From the desire of being esteemed, deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being loved,
From the desire of being extolled,
From the desire of being honored,
From the desire of being praised,
From the desire of being preferred to others,
From the desire of being consulted,
From the desire of being approved,

From the fear of being humiliated, deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being despised,
From the fear of suffering rebukes,
From the fear of being calumniated,
From the fear of being forgotten,
From the fear of being ridiculed,
From the fear of being wronged,
From the fear of being suspected,

That others may be loved more than I, O Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be esteemed more than I,
That, in the opinion of the world, others may, increase and I may decrease,
That others may be chosen and I set aside,
That others may be praised and I unnoticed,
That others may be preferred to me in everything,
That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should, O Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

Many blessings to you, my friends, for a happy and blessed New Year!

♥Charlotte

I think we all need prayers for this year. I hate election years. It is awful, hate, fudes, lies and so on and so forth. I just wish we had a better candidate than we do have, out of all of them I would stay the course. if only , sorry, Happy new year. Love and best wishes from my Blog to Yours. Richard and Sissy dog

thank you for your well wishes for this new year and the poem. I strive to live as GOD would have me, I know I fall short but the lord forgives me when I pray and ask. Then I know I can start new again.

Sorry I vanished, but you can see why now. We have been studying up on greyhounds so we would know what we are getting into then going in for adoption and loads of questions before we said yes. I know there are times ahead that will be rough as we had a rough Saturday but we all will be better for it in the end. She is happy and that is what matters.

GOD bless you and your sweet family and furry ones too for this new year and may the lord keep you all safe and richly bless you. I have not forgotten the bones, but just got off track.
