My Knitting Projects and a giveaway!

Are you making your list and checking it twice? I sure hope that you are not getting stressed this Christmas season like the lady above.

Knitting projects have kept me pretty busy during my free time. They were presents for our parish priests.

For Father John

My sweet friend, Cheri, gifted me with a book on product photography. And although that is not something that I specialize in, I thought I would give it a try. Let me know what you think.

One of the suggestions in the book is that you get up close to show detail. You can see the pattern here, I hope. The hat is out of focus on purpose.

For Father Manuel

This is only half of the hat and scarf set. ..I am still working on the hat.

This is a close up of the above pattern. I don't know why the color is so off. It is really between the two examples. And the light was from a window in the same spot. Hmmmm?

This is not for the priests. It will be a prize for whoever has the best holiday memory.

Just be sure to give me your email address when you leave your memory. I will try to get this out by the first of the year.

And remember to try and be joyful during these trying times.

I don't even know where to begin with holiday memories--there are so many. Your photos and projects are wonderful. I love the colors. I'm already a winner with my "grape" hat so won't toss my name in the pot this time.

Best,
Bonnie

Charlotte - You've been busy!! All of your work is lovely!! I especially like the first photo of the blue scarf and cap! I really like the pattern of the scarf. Is it difficult to learn? I really want to relearn how to knit!!
And your photography is wonderful!! It's good to be close up so I can - anyone can - see the pattern/texture!!
Nice job!

You are so talented! They are all beautiful. I'll toss my name in the hat with a memory... there are tons, of course, but I'll have to say last year wins, with the memory of no gift exchanges, except time and togetherness. And food, of course. My kids voted to spend Christmas with my parents then, and again this year, which totally warms my heart. Wishing you the peace and joy of Christmas, Charlotte!

Charlotte, you are indeed a woman of many talents. I am soooooo impressed with your knitting and your product photography!

Memories...so many...My children reading the Christmas story from the Bible, just like my family did. Michelle always wanted to be the reader, and I can just "see" her around age 8 or 9, dressed in her long Christmas dress, standing before us reading.

What beautiful knitting and lovely product photography...isn't it interesting that there are ways to photograph anything (food, knitting) and books about them all. Christmas memories, lots and all good. Never remember a "bad" Christmas, ever. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a sweet comment. Wishing you a Merry Christmas to you and yours!!

Charlotte, these hats and scarves are absolutely beautiful!
I love the stitch you used for Father Manuel's.

My fondest Christmas memories revolve around the baking of cookies. I make all of the ones I was taught to make by my mother, aunt, and grandmother. When I smell them baking, I am immediately taken back to my childhood, and it is really a wonderful experience for me.

Merry Christmas, my friend.

Your projects are truly lovely, Charlotte! Learning to knit and crochet is one of my first New Year's goals! I think my most memorable Christmas would have to be our 3rd Christmas together as a married couple and our 1st one as parents of our 7-month old baby girl!

Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!
Carol

You truly are gifted in many ways and the one I like the best is the gift GOD gave you on how you comfort others with your kindness and words. GOD is truly smiling and saying, "Well done that good and faithful servant."
You are a blessing to all that you come in contact with.

I know you have been a blessing to me with your talents, friendship and gifts. YOU will warm many hearts with these handmade gifts and for years to come.

NOW, that book sounds interesting and with your photography skills you already have mastered, you sure made your knitted gifts
eye-popping. Cant wait to see what else you learn from this book.

GOD bless you dear friend and hope soon we can get together.

Did I miss the giveaway? :( Your knitting projects are fantastic. The colors of the yarn are so vibrant, especially the blue hat and scarf. Seems your book on product photography really paid off, as these photos are beautifully done.
