I get by with a little help from my friends!

Side yard

Hi Friend! This was how it looked outside this morning when I got up. I did add a cooling filter to emphasize the coldness. All the roads are melting with the slightly higher temps.

Outside our front door

Since coming back into the blogging fold, I have had some difficulty ...actually a lot of difficulty...hair tearing out time. My friend Tammy of http://simplesouthernhappiness.blogspot.com/
came to my rescue. She was calming in my storm.  Thank you, Tammy! It took several hours trying to figure out how to re-do my header and make sure that it was centered. Adding to the confusion, I have Windows 8 which is so different from Windows XP that I had before.

The birds are feeding heavily at Cafe Wilson.
Here is my experimental shot of a bird, a female Cardinal, I think. I shot it through a tinted window in my sun room with my longest lens, a 18-105 mm that came with my Nikon D90. To have enough light, I upped my ISO to 2500. Do you think I need a new lens? :o)

Stay warm and safe. May the peace and love of Jesus be with you today and always!

Glad I could help you, it got this old brain smoking, hubby thought something was burning.

YES, you are a fantastic photographer and a new lens would kick you into a higher realm and with a new lens you could look up a bug’s nose and more. There will be no privacy for your birds; they will be running from you and warning others not to venture to your feeders. I so hope you get one soon, I can’t wait to see your outstanding work.

Charlotte, there's 2 feet on the ground and more in drifts. Just came in from feeding horses, sheep and 'pacas...then carried Carly to the Ranger, shoved her old bones in and drove her to the barn. I'll bring her back to the house when it's better weather; at the barn she has shelter, at the house, not much. This is a terrible storm and we're due for more snow tomorrow. Although, it's still snowing now.
You are a good photographer and Tammy is wonderful for helping you.

It looks magical outside your window, Charlotte. I love the snow, and wish I saw more of it where I live. I know what you mean about computers. I just got a new one and trying to figure things out, and I'm going through the same thing.

Happy Valentine's Day, and I hope your day is filled with so much happiness and love.

Glad that Tammy was able to resolve the header issue, Charlotte. A new lend would be a good investment for those bird shots. And, you did capture a male cardinal. The female is more gray-ish.

Your yard looks as cold as mine...haven't set foot outside except to get mail on the porch!

YES you need a new lens so you can get up front a personal with those elusive birds! BTW, I'm over wanting a new lens. :)

Brrrr! But it's so pretty. Love the shot of the cardinal, but I'm thinking that's a male because of the solid red head and black around the eye. Can you believe I'm getting tired of shooting birds? We're going out tomorrow to a botanical garden in New Orleans and I'm taking my smaller lenses. :)

I'm so glad Tammy was able to help you. She is such a good friend and so helpful. Your new header is great and I love the crisp colors.
