Peace is today's word for BL

Good morning Peaches! Have you been getting rain in your part of the country? I hope it is a good slow and steady rain and not the flooding kind.

Yesterday's word for Beyond Layer's class was "peace". I was not able to load an image as my Picasso space was at its limit. I never knew about that. Anyway, here is my image for Peace.

My prayers go out to all of those in the path of Hurricane Isaac. Pray that the Lord will still the wind and the waters.

Peace to you, my friends!

He is Risen! Halleluia!

"My people, what have I done to you? or in what have I offended you? Answer me. What more should I have done, or did not do? I led you out of the land of Egypt, and you prepared a cross for me. I opened the Red Sea before you, and you opened my side with a lance. I gave you a royal sceptre, and you have give me a crown of thorns. With great power I lifted you up, and you have hung me on a cross. My people, what have I done to you, or in what have I offended you? Answer me. "

From the Reproaches of Good Friday

Today is Good Friday and I don't get the "good" part. I know that is is ultimately good that He died for our sins. But what a  horrendous death. I might as well have hammered the nails in His precious hands and feet for my sins.

"We adore you, O Christ and we praise you. Because by your holy Cross You have redeemed the world."

Prayer for the New Year

Dear Blogging friends,

This is my wish for my new year....that I can look to Jesus and follow this prayer. It is a beautiful one that I hope you will read. It was written by Merry Cardinal del Val, a secretary of state to Post Saint Pius X from the prayer book for Jesuits, 1963.

Prince of Peace

O Jesus! meek and humble of heart, hear me.

From the desire of being esteemed, deliver me, O Jesus.
From the desire of being loved,
From the desire of being extolled,
From the desire of being honored,
From the desire of being praised,
From the desire of being preferred to others,
From the desire of being consulted,
From the desire of being approved,

From the fear of being humiliated, deliver me, O Jesus.
From the fear of being despised,
From the fear of suffering rebukes,
From the fear of being calumniated,
From the fear of being forgotten,
From the fear of being ridiculed,
From the fear of being wronged,
From the fear of being suspected,

That others may be loved more than I, O Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
That others may be esteemed more than I,
That, in the opinion of the world, others may, increase and I may decrease,
That others may be chosen and I set aside,
That others may be praised and I unnoticed,
That others may be preferred to me in everything,
That others may become holier than I, provided that I may become as holy as I should, O Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.

Many blessings to you, my friends, for a happy and blessed New Year!
