Beyond Layers Homework

My good friend Betty, purchased Kim Klassen's class, Beyond Layers, for me. I am thrilled and delighted to be in this year long course on learning how to better my photography.

For the Coreopsis in the bottle, I used KK Evolve, with Vivid Light at 40%, then brushed texture off the flowers and bottle. Next layer, Evolve 2, Soft Light at 48% and brushed over the flowers and bottle.

On the photo above, I used KK canvas love. Can't remember the blending mode. Will write it down next time. Then I used her Paper 4, set the blending mode to Soft Light at 24% opacity. Next layer, I added Paper 3, Soft Light at 48% opacity. On all three layers, I brushed off the textures at 86% opacity.

For this foxglove photo I started with KK texture, Awaken, blending mode was Screen at 35% opacity. Then brushed the petals with a soft black brush to remove the texture, 86% opacity. Next layer, I ran Awaken again, this time with Soft Light at 48% and brushed the texture off the flower. Last, I used KK Summer love in Overlay mode at 45% brushing off the flower again. Ended with a Coffee Shop vignette action.

May the peace, happiness and love of Jesus be with you today and always!

My Sunday Best

I added my own texture to this photo. It is called "Bread of Life". Email if you want the jpeg. I would be happy to share it.

Hope y'all had a wonderful Resurrection celebration! I was a very relaxing day at our house.
We attended the Vigil Mass on Saturday night.

Never did get to coloring my eggs in time!

Peace, love and joy to you this Easter week!

Rainy Day Flower Macro

It is rainy and drizzly here in Georgia today. Makes for good weather to just stay in, make a pot of soup and read a book. Or....take some macro shots. I did make some soup and carried a container over to my neighbor for her dinner tonight. On the way back I picked a few camellias and brought them home to shoot.

See the little guy in the middle? He hitchhiked over to my house on this flower.

I was given this pretty girl vase with a cat on her shoulder, by friends that we visited in Moscow. It is authentically made  in Russia.

She looks rather stern, don't you think?

I  am having fun with this new macro lens.

I used a Leslie Nicole texture on this.

This is a Meyer Lemon blossom, about an inch across.

This is moss at the base of my tree in the front yard. I didn't know it grew that high!

I love rain drops!

Camellia in a shot glass.

Looks almost like lace.

Star struck.

I couldn't resist adding this word.

Thanks for visiting me today! May the peace, joy and love of the Lord, Jesus, be with you today and always!
